Blogs, Wikis & Websites
This section features a variety of blogs and websites created by both students and teachers. Websites include: Peaces of the World (a human rights website maintained by students), Nicaragua (detailing our community service work in Diria, Nicaragua) and Robotics (websites created for the CRC competition). Blogs are varied and include several created by teachers for the purpose of informing parents of classroom activities as well as the blogs used under the category The Study Travels.
Online Services
Online services expand the way we communicate as a community and offer new tools for students to use. Google Docs has a wide range of web based applications. Shelfari allows teachers and students to review books. Moodle is The Study's classroom management system. Our First Class email system can also be accessed through a browser and users can subscribe to the 2010-2011 academic calendar. Links in this section also include e-learning and online work orders.
The IT Department
This section, hosted by the IT Department, includes a ticketing system to be used when any technical repair is required, support for technical learning with a blog as well as a series of online "How To" video tutorials that can be used to help the user with everyday tasks. Links to student opportunities, video conferencing, Microsoft Certification and spotlighted sites are also included.
Grade 5 this year, will be piloting our new iPad programme.
The 21st Century Classroom is ready. In the next few weeks we will be posting a virtual tour of it.
Students can not only print in color and black and white, but also in plastic.
